I was wondering if anyone would be interested on the idea of letting the pure stocks have a passanger ride along. I know they do this at ARKLA-TEX speedway on a weekly basis and the have a very good turn out. I think if this was allowed it help the sport out alot, by letting people who has never raced get a chance to get out there and get a taste of the fun and before they know it they will be in their own car! I also believe this would help the race track it's self by drawing more people to the pit's and also to the spectators side. I would like to see this happen this year if possible. What does everyone else think?

I like it....I will talk to Glen about it and see what we can do to make this happen....Do you guys agree this should be an option in the rules?

I think it would be a great way to get more people started into the sport. If it was me i would have it as an option as long as the car had the proper saftey equipment for the passenger (minimum of 3 passenger side door bar's, approved racing seat, approved belt's, window net , ect..) I have talked with quite a few racer's and non racers that would like to see this happen . I believe it would be all around good for everyone!

What if......some eariler input asked about spectator races--maybe the 2 seater idea could provide some spectators a chance to ride along. There would be no upkeep on spectator race cars, and can imagine a Monday  morning b.s. session at the water cooler:" I rode with that crazy SOB and we would have won if that other SOB would not have spun us out."

That does sound like it would be a cool way to get someone HOOKED. Would imagine there would be some insurance papers they would have to sign though.

Cool Cool Cool cool idea, i have seen this and it is fun to watch. you could even have a drawing where spectators would have a chance to ride for a night, hot laps, heat, and feature.
I'd vote for it. Grin Grin Grin

I think it would be a great idea. I think when they draw the 50/50 winner they should draw for the ride along. Maybe that way you can also sell more 50/50 tickets.
Hey Maddog, have you fixed your car yet? We missed you the last part of the season.

I have talked to Glen about this.  His only concern was with an insurance clause, obviously other tracks are able to, so he is working toward making this happen.  We both think its a great idea.  Both for fans, and someone who wants a taste before they bite off into racing.  Thanks for the feedback guys!

This COULD be a GO...The idea of putting a 2nd seat in PURE STOCK cars will be voted on at the JR MINI/PURE/STOCK/LIMITED MEETING. This meeting should take place next Tuesday or Thursday evening.  I will let you know which.  It will take place at the Elegante Hotel in Beaumont.

I think this would be the perfect opportunity for some of the spectators to get more involved and then maybe they would realize it isn't as easy as it looks. Maybe then they would keep their foul mouths shut in the stands and let it all out in the car. I've been a passenger and it was a blast!!!! Even though we flipped,I can't wait to get in one again!!!!! Hope this is voted in.   Sissy Kettl
