KristyTex:  The #3 car sponsored by Johnny on the spot was owned by Carl Colicher, who owned the Johnny on The Spot.  We used to campaign an asphault car  through most of the 1970's; running at just about every 1/2 mile track within a two day drive of Beaumont all over the country.  This car ran at some of the same tracks we did.  Fred Lovell drove it originally, and then Mike Murray drove it for awhile as well.  This car featured one of the first "store bought" motors that was ever put in a racecar around these parts.  George Boltoff out of California built it's motor, and it never lacked for horsepower after that motor was installed.  The motor had many features that were unheard of at that time; 6" pushrods, camshaft profile with lift in excess of .600, special rocker arms to coincide with all that lift, and about the smoothest balance job you'd ever see.  I don't know how many guys that were affiliated with this car are still around...would be nice to find out.
