#83 Hobby Stock was DQ'd because of MSD module in the distributor. All fine print of the rules WILL be read and re-read next time!

I thought u could run bmt rules from your home track everybody runs those modules just as long as they fit under the cap sound like they where looking for something but did run a good race he could have rutted that leader out of the way he was faster BUT A ONE GROVE TRACK BORING TOO WATCH ANYWAY GOOD JOB RANDY

Beaumont rules say no MSD type ignition modules.

MSD module allowed by the rules.   No MSD Boxes.   Bottom line stock appearing distributer.   You can't have a separate MSD ignition box.   

"IGNITION:
Stock type H.E.I. type ignition. Any ignition module is allowed. Any cap mounted coil. MSD style ignition is not permitted. One 12 volt battery allowed."

The Grand rules say "No MSD box or modules." GTRP rules aren't real clear about it though.

No homework needed.  I didn't race 

When I do (driving or pit crew) I do my Homework. 

And as far as homework it was a module.  I know some racers who can't even tell me what module they are running.   Not that Randy is one of them but a module is not a separate ignition box. 

What I posted is straight out of the 2012 GTRP Rules for Hobby Stock.   I have seen a couple of different types of ignitions. One being stock; one being stock appearing and another with an external ignition box.   If you are running a Chevy distributor you can run "Any" module (as long as it fits in the stock location).   AND You can run "ANY" coil (as long as it fits in the stock location).  You are not allowed to run external MSD Ignition Boxes.

I took it to be pretty clear.   No MSD Boxes allowed.   But just prior to that statement it said "ANY" modules and cap mounted coils.    The rules "DIDN'T" say; Any module But the MSD Module or Any cap mounted coil but the MSD cap mounted coil.   

The rules are telling you to build a distributor "stock appearing" with any module and any cap mount coil without an external MSD ignition box.   Just keep a Flame Thrower Module on hand for the Grand it's good up to 7500 rpms.   

And this is of course for GTRP.   I have never read the rules for the Grand.   

Randy, it happens to the best of us!  I can't wait till I am disqualified!   That would mean I made my way to tech and I was actually racing again!       Not that I would enjoy the disqualification.   But I know for a fact I would still have a smile on my face from the race I just ran!   Because I DID enjoy that.

Crashtest. Next time you post rules with subject (grand) please say what rule book your quote is from. I read every rule book I can. Knowledge is the key.       thank you Dennis.

Knowledge is the key Dennis; but these post get started and go on, some with many pages and some lead off from what the creater intended them for.   Also, I appologize that I didn't post what rule book I copied that out of like I did in my later post but if you read the two post just before that one you can see we are discussing GTRP rules and not the grand.   

But I do understand were it could lead someone astray.
