We will have a local option body rule. This will be put in place to give both karters and spectators something different to be entertained with.
After many discussions, this should not be a "performance" advantage to the under powered stock karts. Some have even said it will be a
disadvantage. I cant wait to see

Safety concerns are also not an issue. As long as the wedge is built properly with correct materials, there should be no danger in running
with molded bodies. These 2 types of bodies have been ran together since the 1980s. They are a combined rule in the UAS Sanction, with karts
competing and very high speeds.
So, If you choose to entertain this option, please do not throw away your other bodies, nerf bars etc... you will need them if you choose to race
at other tracks... since there are "sanctioning bodies" at other tracks...I will discuss with them this open body local option we will try..
who knows, maybe they will change with us..

CHASSIS SPECIFICATIONS
MAXIMUM OVERALL KART LENGTH: 74”
OVERALL KART WIDTH: 50” Maximum
MINIMUM TREAD WIDTH: 28”, measured from the centerline of right tire to the centerline of left tire.
MAXIMUM OVERALL KART HEIGHT: 26”. This does not include windshield fairing or steering wheel.
Windshield fairing may be installed higher to protect the driver. Fairing cannot be installed in
such a manner as to obstruct the driver’s vision. It can be no higher than the driver’s eye level
while sitting in the kart in a normal driving position.
WHEELBASE: 40” minimum, 50” maximum.
SEAT: No portion of the seat may be located rearward of a plane projected vertically from the rear of rear axle.

BODYWORK: Brand and design is open. All wedge bodywork must
end by centerpoint of rear bumper, must be nonmetallic, and is subject
to the The Kart Track safety rules.
Rear bumpers that span the full rear track width are not
mandatory, but are recommended: CIK plastic or double steel bar
NO SPOILERS, WICKERBILLS, OR WINGS ALLOWED
Maximum height forward of the backside of the front wheels is 17.5”.
Maximum height reward of the backside of the front tires is 14”.
Column fairing must be lower than the highest point of the steering wheel and have
at least 3” clearance between the wheel and fairing at all points.
Side panels can start either at the centerline of front hub or continue from nose piece on a continuous angle to
determined height and center of rear axle. Overall height can not be greater than 26 inches.
Driver must be able to see over both sides of wedge.
*Depending on seat position, the height will be teched on drivers ability to see without obstruction.*
Please use common sense in building these, do not make a gray area get you unapproved.
Framing shall not be less that .750” by .065”
wall thickness, cold rolled steel tubing or other material of equal or
greater strength. ** no conduit ** no angled steel **
**aluminum framing allowed, can be bolted to existing nerf system with sharp edges ground to a radius.**
All body panels must be plastic or a composite material. NO METAL ALLOWED.
These are easily found at speed shops and sign shops.
No sharp edges allowed. All corners must be rounded.
Top Edge can have a 1" break Bottom edge must remain flat and squared to the ground.
ABS PLASTIC, COROPLAST, ARE GOOD PLASTICS TO USE
** If coroplast is use, a 2 inch strip may be installed with 1 inch break at top edges
of body. Riveted every 6 inches with big headed rivets.
**No part of wedge or body may be lower than main frame rail.**
Center Pieces must clear seat by 1 inch all around.
Take in consideration the melting point of used material. Use as much clearance as possible
around exhaust... 3 inch minimum from header/pipe. more if applicable.
